Hello valued CAA Saskatch-
ewan members. It is my distinct
pleasure to introduce myself to
you via Westworld, our member
magazine. I am pleased and
honoured to be elected as the
new chair of the CAA Saskatch-
ewan board of directors. During
my two-year term, I plan to
keep members updated on all
things CAA Saskatchewan, including safety,
advocacy and government relations. Please
continue to read this column in future
issues for important information and
updates. At this time, I would like to recog-
nize and thank Barry D. Martin for his com-
mitted leadership and dedication during his
recent tenure as chair of the board. I know
he will represent our association well in his
new role on the CAA National board of
directors as the elected CAA Saskatchewan
representative.
A major responsibility of the volunteer-
based and elected board is to oversee CAA
Saskatchewan business and activities, car-
ried out by approximately 250 employees.
With 12 CAA stores located across nine
locations in the province, we are mandated
and governed to do our very best for you,
the CAA member. We are here
to help with your automotive,
travel and insurance needs. e
benefits of a CAA membership
are extensive and valuable.
Please review your membership
brochure or online summary of
your membership benefits.
Don't forget to show your
CAA Saskatchewan member-
ship card and start saving with the many
CAA Rewards partners.
As we travel towards our 100th anni-
versary in 2017, I would like to thank you
for your valued membership. Whether you
are trusted, long-time members or new to
the CAA Saskatchewan family, you have
helped our association grow and remain
strong. We sincerely hope you continue the
journey with us. caask.ca/board-directors,

Re: update to "Space, the Final Frontier" (Up
Front, Fall 2015). e past couple of weeks have
certainly been a whirlwind for the USST (Univer-
sity of Saskatchewan Space Design Team). Four
of us travelled to Poland to compete in the Euro-
pean Rover Challenge (ERC), and we are proud to
say we placed first in the competition! While we
were confident in our design, we did not expect
such an excellent outcome, especially given that
it was our first time at ERC. is victory marks a
return to the glory days of the USST, when we
regularly placed in the top three at space elevator
competitions. It has been so rewarding to see all
of our hard work and long hours pay off in such a
big way. W
