She toured Cape Town and Franschhoek, the heart of Cape Wine Country. e trip included visits to Johannesburg and Hoedspruit for a two-day safari and the Kapama Private Game Reserve. Wingert thoroughly enjoyed the South African experience and had this to say about her jour- ney: "A truly amazing experience! We arrived in Hoedspruit and were welcomed by two park rangers from Kapama in open vehicles. Within two minutes of our arrival at Kapama we were greeted by a giraffe, a wonderful way to start this part of our journey. We saw elephants, lions, water buffalos, zebra, giraffes, exotic birds, rhinos, hippos and a lot more all in their natural element. is was truly an experience of a lifetime." Wherever you want to go, what- ever your travel bucket list might be – let the experienced and profes- sional CAA Travel consultants plan your trip of a lifetime. ey can help make your journey memorable, rewarding and worry-free. With more than 650,000 square kilometres to explore, Saskatchewan is the ideal place to be a tourist. As the 2015 Saskatchewanderer, the Government of Saskatchewan's official travel blogger, I get to be a tourist at home. For one year, I discover the best of living, working and playing in the province while sharing my adventures through social media. One of my favourite places to spend time is the northern boreal forest. In winter, I partici- pated in cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and dogsledding near La Ronge. This summer, I took a boat trip from Stanley Mission to Rapid River and hiked up to Nistowiak Falls, one of the largest waterfalls in Saskatchewan. I also spent three days fishing. I flew out of Missinipe into Pine Island Resort on Black Bear Island Lake. As part of a widening of the Churchill River system, fishing here is some of the best in the province. Although a novice fisher, I managed to reel in a giant 43-inch, 25-pound northern pike. Surprisingly, it wasn't a difficult fight and I managed to snap a photo before releasing the fish back into the water. Planning a roadtrip is easy with 12 CAA stores throughout Saskatchewan. They offer maps, TripTiks, road safety kits and travel advice to ensure I'm prepared for adventure anywhere in the province. And there's 24-hour, 365-days-a-year roadside assistance with my CAA membership. Wherever your travels take you, remember CAA is there for you.
