Altro XpressLay; XpressLay install; Noraplan nTx sheet flooring; NEXT STEP from Dinoflex. Marmoleum Modular from Forbo Flooring Systems. J UNE 2015 | 33 Resilient Flooring Noraplan has introduced the nTx sheet flooring that may cut installation time by as much as 50 per cent when compared to standard PVC sheet installation. "This next generation of flooring features a pre-applied, solvent-free self-adhesive that minimizes prep work and eliminates drying time to simplify flooring instal- lation, saving general contractors and flooring con- tractors valuable time and money," says Amy Bostock, regional marketing manager, nora systems, Inc. "Noraplan nTx is resistant to moisture and has no pH limits. As a result, the floor covering eliminates the need for time-consuming and costly moisture testing and remediation, and requires minimal preparation of the concrete slab." She adds noraplan nTx also elimi- nates the use of a wet adhesive system and the associ- ated curing and drying time. Floors can be cleaned or walked on immediately after installation. To remove other installation complexities, noraplan nTx also reduces the number of required products and component suppliers. "All noraplan nTx components are supplied by nora and backed by nora's Limited Warranty, minimizing potential points of failure during a project," says Bostock. "At the same time, it ensures the same performance reliability customers have come to expect from nora." Forbo Flooring Systems is excited to introduce 15 popular Marmoleum Striato colours to its sustain- able Modular tile collection. Available in both planks and squares, the shades, shapes and structures of Marmoleum Modular Striato were carefully selected to provide a balanced, organic palette with maximum design possibilities. "Marmoleum Modular Striato co-ordinates beautifully with the existing marbled tile collection, and offers the same natural, healthy and durable properties that make Marmoleum the ideal flooring solution for health care, education, gov- ernment and corporate facilities," says Jacco Vlaar, national sales manager. "Marmoleum Modular's sustainable, water-based Topshield 2 finish provides occupancy-ready installa- tion," says Vlaar. "Its exceptional performance guards against real world flooring damage, including soiling, staining, scratching and scuffing. While non-renew- able floor coverings may be permanently damaged, your beautiful Marmoleum Modular floor can easily and cost-effectively be renewed, bringing it back to its original beauty. In fact, Marmoleum Modular has a sys- tem service life of 30 years." Currently the only floor tile that is USDA Bio-Preferred Certified 100 per cent biobased, the Marmoleum Modular collection is made from natural, renewable ingredients and features inherent antimicrobial and antistatic properties that improve indoor air quality and resist bacteria growth without chemical additives. Interior surfaces specialist, Altro, received the Bronze Innovation Award at IIDEX Canada 2014 for Altro XpressLay, the first ever adhesive-free safety f loor. Installation does not require conventional adhesive – the joints and perimeter are adhered using Altro double-sided tape. "Altro XpressLay features a pioneering underside emboss that allows moisture in the subf loor to escape, offering these time and money saving benefits as well as environmental advantages," says Nick Alexandropoulos, strategic marketing analyst. Some benefits of Altro XpressLay include the abil- ity to fit, tape and weld the floor on the same day, and it can be installed in 92 per cent humidity. "The floors no longer require a surface damp-proof membrane, the underfloor heating can be kept on and it can be recycled at the end of its life," says Alexandropoulos. He says Altro XpressLay has been extensively tested for over five years and is a unique safety flooring prod- uct in today's market. The 2.2-mm thick, vinyl safety sheet floor contains five per cent post-consumer recy- cled content and is available in 40 colours, six of which are Quick Ship colours. For over two decades, Dinoflex has been helping customers reduce their project's environmental foot- print with expertly developed flooring innovations and solutions. "Our NEXT STEP series opens many new avenues for what can be done with recycled rubber," says Mark Bunz, CEO. "From replicating the luxury of natural hardwood using a vinyl wear layer to providing a durable rubber surface, the NEXT STEP Series has been created for use in a variety of applications." The specialized lamination technology incorporates uniquely engineered recycled rubber backing for sport, commercial and ergonomic applications, along with a top wear-layer for maximum cost savings. This improves the environmental sustainability for high colour design options. "When we provide our customers with cost- effective flooring that is beautiful and of the highest qual- ity, we are helping them in making a great choice for their project and for the environment," he says. Bunz says the NEXT STEP Series is beneficial for LEED projects with its sound reduction, high traction and it is FloorScore certified for indoor air quality. With a focus on bringing sustainability to the fore- front, the Dinoflex surfacing products provide custom- ers with beautiful, high colour flooring options created entirely through the repurposing of previously used rubber products.
