Marmoleum Modular from Forbo Flooring Systems; Acczent from Tarkett; EverWood from TORLYS Inc. Resilient Flooring F Resilient flooring offers endless design possibilities by LAURIE JONES Staying Grounded Flooring choices continue to evolve this year as manu- facturers step up the selections on offer. New colours, technology and the expansion of already popular options create outstanding design alternatives. This year TORLYS Inc. introduced EverWood and EverTile – revolutionary new luxury vinyl floors that offer beauty and brawn for both home and commercial installations. These floors are waterproof and built tough to withstand the high-traffic demands of today's busy households or even hotels, retail and restaurants. "We have entered the luxury vinyl flooring market with great looking products that we believe are unsur- passed in the industry," says Peter Barretto, president and CEO. "EverWood and EverTile have been designed to exceed industry performance standards, and sub- floor imperfections are less of an issue because of the product's design. We are excited with this product intro- duction as we've continued to bring TORLYS innovation to Canadian consumers and commercial customers." EverWood and EverTile are part of the TORLYS smart floors brand and provide all the benefits of other smart floors and more. These floors have a thick, durable .5-mm wear layer, low-gloss with realistic wood and tile textures with bevelled edges, an ultra- stable core and they utilize Uniclic joint technology for the ultimate in gap resistance. Also included is TORLYS CorkPlus underlay with Microban antimicrobial pro- tection for mould and mildew resistance that benefits from being quiet underfoot. EverWood and EverTile are hypoallergenic and carry the FloorScore certification. Tarkett has updated its popular heterogeneous sheet product Acczent, increasing opportunities for design flexibility. The previous collection of 19 SKU's, including one steel and 18 wood visuals, will now expand to 25 woods, six concrete, four Zen and four Tisse. "The idea is to create design continuity between sheet and tile that allows designers to install sheet and tile on the same job," says Jeremy Salomon, proj- ect manager. "Tarkett strategically selected wood and concrete visuals from the existing I. D. Freedom LVT line and Zen and Tisse visuals from the Space Modular Tile collection, and included them in the new Acczent Heterogeneous Sheet Collection." Another important update to the line includes a change in gloss level. "The new Acczent collection will feature a matte finish which co-ordinates with our other homogeneous lines and eliminates the pos- sibility of installing flooring with two different gloss finishes next to one another," says Salomon. "It has an exceptionally hard-wearing reinforced polyurethane surface treatment and 32-mil wear-layer that makes it one of the most resistant and durable commercial sheet vinyl products on the market." He adds that Acczent will help generate savings during the prod- uct's lifetime and minimize the use of water, deter- gents and energy for the floor's maintenance. It is part of the Johnsonite flooring system, which includes rub- ber, linoleum, homogeneous and heterogeneous vinyl, stairwell solutions, finishing borders and accessories.
