was completed in 1895. It
was nearly demolished in
the 1930s, however, when
developers offered the
church big money for the
land. Public outcry over the

ROBSON
SQUARE
A public plaza and landmark
civic centre, Robson Square
was the work of modernist
architect Arthur Erickson.
With the Vancouver Law
Courts on one side and the
Vancouver Art Gallery
on the other, the square is
anchored by the foundations
of society – the law and the
arts – while underneath
the square are government
offices, supporting the people.

ROBSON
STREET
Nicknamed "Robsonstrasse"
in the 1950s for the wealth of
German delis and restaurants
that populated it, today this
stretch of sidewalk has an
international, cosmopolitan
feel and is better known for
chic shops, high-end fashion
and excellent people-
watching. End your tour with
a shopping spree or a cup of
joe at one of the many local
coffee shops.
