The beautiful countries of the
East provided the inspiration for
this remarkable wedding design.
India during the Moghul Era, as
well as vibrant Turkey and
Morocco, were strong inuences
when Sandy Pandher of
Vancouver's DreamGroup
Productions envisioned a traditional
Eastern wedding updated with
subtle elements of modern design.
The result will take you back to a
time when sultans ruled empires,
and guests gathered for elaborate
ceremonies adorned in rich textiles
and ornate glittering jewels.
Curated by Pandher, the design
features a warm palette of
Marsala (Pantone's 2015 Colour
of the Year), cream and gold. An
interesting mix of textures – from
glass, marble and brass to silk,
chiffon, leather and velvet –
adds to the opulent feel. For the
ceremony space, a half-moon-
shaped mandap was assembled
and decorated with a fresh green
garland and an abundance of
lamps and lanterns lending a
warm and intimate glow. An
ornate dinner table Žt for a royal
feast was created using lush,
cascading orals, gold cutlery and
brass drink ware, while at the
heart of the dessert table is an
elegant cake inspired by an
intricate henna design. And Žnally,
in honour of the tradition of
serving chai at Indian weddings, a
welcoming chai station is set with
aromatic spices and antique
serving pieces adding a warm
touch of Old World ambience.
