Whether you're selling or staying curb appeal counts!
While you are repainting the front door and making sure the
trim looks good, spend some time in the garden too. A well-
maintained garden makes a great first impression and the
Canadian Ornamental Horticulture Alliance says professional
landscaping can increase property value by up to 20 per cent.
Even small projects like adding a patio or hedge can add
from four to 12 per cent.
Professional landscaping aside, ensuring the lawn is mowed,
weeding any walkways and adding colourful annuals will
go a long way to make your garden welcoming and set the
tone for a potential buyer's visit.
Tip
Trees are a great investment in a landscape. If
you plant the right tree in the right place some
experts suggest it can add more than five per
cent to property values. (Landscape Ontario)
