privacy within the office while keeping the open social environment." Privée is available in an array of options from open sofas to ottomans that still create the spirit of the mod- els with a canopy, but offer a more flexible space. The Privée lounge seating can also be fitted with conve- nient swivel tables, providing a multi-purpose top for additional comfort. Back and seat cushions are stuffed with polyester fibres, fully upholstered and closed with a zipper. The acoustical properties are achieved with recycled polyurethane foam, and a variety of eco- friendly textiles are available. The MVMT ergonomic seating line from BioFit Engineered Products represents a new approach from esthetic and functionality perspectives. Developed in collaboration with Studio Fifield of Milan, Italy, it was created to enhance range of motion and the overall user experience in multiple work environments within the technology, laboratory, health-care and industrial sectors, with crossover applications in the office mar- ket. "Its sophisticated look complements the latest interior design trends," says Ed Metzger, BioFit presi- dent. "In addition to performance, the chair's appealing looks positively impact corporate image, encourage users and help attract top talent." With three series of three models each, the MVMT line is available in over a dozen clean room and joint clean room/ESD performance packages, and thousands of configurations. "The line was developed to provide greater ergonomic functionality and increased range of motion in 'higher than desk height' situations, while meeting BIFMA standards – all while looking good in the workplace," says Metzger. A highlight is a weight-activated control – meaning an individual user's weight sets the tension, which alleviates resetting controls in multi-user/multi-shift workplaces. A BioFit exclusive, it is the first weight- activated control in a predominantly non-office work chair. Additionally, medium and tall configurations are geared toward office use to help address user issues with standing-height workstations. The Mirra 2 chair from Herman Miller features a flexibility that works with people who are in a con- stant state of motion, shifting from individual to col- laborative work in an instant. "Mirra 2 moves with you; at one with your body," says Mark Schurman, direc- tor of corporate communications. "When you sit, the seat and back adapt to you instantly. It has dynamic surfaces that respond to your slightest movements and simple, intuitive adjustments to fine-tune the fit. Mirra 2 balances immediate comfort and personalized ergonomics in one sophisticated design." Mirra 2's Loop Spine provides torsional flex, allow- ing users to stretch and reach laterally, while the Har- monic 2 tilt provides a smooth, balanced feel when reclining. Two back options help Mirra 2 work for a variety of people and applications. The ultra-respon- sive Butterfly Back merges a fabric layer with polymer veins to create a dynamic hybrid structure that acts like a suspension membrane. The TriFlex back meets more rigorous cleaning protocols because there is no fabric layer. Both back options offer passive Postur- eFit sacral support to prevent slouching and keep the user's spine properly aligned. Horizon Furniture has added a new seating series to its already extensive line of offerings. The Rhea chair is made in Canada and is completely customizable to suit a variety of needs. "The flawless design of the Rhea chair fits your body and keeps you comfortable during the course of your work day," says Catherine Adams, marketing and communications administrator. "The integral, contoured lumbar support, and the choice of mechanisms and armrests, put the foundations of ergonomics to work and allows the dealer to tailor the product to their project requirement." Horizon strives to maintain green initiatives dur- ing the manufacturing process as well as in the final product. "Providing seating that is intuitive and user- friendly is one thing, but now customers are more con- scious of the impact their purchases may have on the environment," says Adams. "That's why the Rhea chair is made with natural seed-based BioFoam cushions, with components that are able to be recycled at the end of the products lifespan," she adds. "Horizon provides comfort that does not compromise the environment."
