M oose Jaw will be the curling capi- tal of Canada when it hosts the national women's champion- ship, the 2015 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, February 14 to 22, 2015. Danielle Sicinski and Glenn Hagel, tournament com- mittee co-chairs, welcome all competitors and curling fans to their "friendly city." Sicin- ski served as host chair of the 2012 Canada Cup of Curling, and Hagel is Moose Jaw's former mayor. "e word is definitely out there, and Saskatchewan is a hot bed for curling fans," says Sicinski. While the curling plays out on ice at Mosaic Place, fans can also head next door to the HeartStop Lounge in the Moose Jaw Ford Curling Centre for daily entertainment and food and refreshments, plus team autograph sessions and interviews with the athletes. curling.ca/2015scotties-en It'll Be a Gas this past summer, the community of Rouleau just 40 kilometres south of Regina was centre stage for the filming of Corner Gas: The Movie. the 90-minute feature film, scheduled to be released this December, is based on the popular ctv sitcom, Corner Gas, which aired for six seasons (2004-2009) and averaged a viewing audience of around 1.4 million. the plot follows the possible demise of the fictional town, Dog River. movie fans will see their tv show favourites, including Brent Butt (Brent leroy), who is also the creator, writer and executive producer. "the entire gang is back," according to Butt, who is quoted on the movie website. "the movie picks up five years after we last checked in and it has everything you loved about the show – snappy dialogue, colourful yet relatable characters, ill-fitting denim trousers, you name it!"
