Feet On The Ground THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS FOR RESILIENT FLOORING by Laurie Jones after years of heavy use," says Vlaar. Dinolex recently celebrated its 25th anniversary with the release of innova- tive new lines of recycled rubber prod- ucts. "After several years of research and testing, we have released our latest product – the NEXT STEP series," says Liz Burdeniuk, sales and technical lead. "This formula is a revolutionary advancement because we are combining all the beneits of the high-colour, recy- cled rubber mixture with lower colour, lower cost backing," says Burdeniuk. "You can increase the recycled content of the loor without sacriicing colour. Secondly, in some circumst ances, you can reduce the cost without giv- ing up the beneits of the high-quality product." Burdeniuk says NEXT STEP is a laminated system so, for example, if a itness centre owner wanted to install an eight-millimetre loor with lots of colour, Dinolex can provide a product that is four millimetres of high-colour laminated onto four millimetres of solid black. "You don't see the black, so R Resilient looring options for 2014 have brought out creativity and technical mastery from manufacturers to provide a great selection of designer choice. Forbo Flooring Systems has introduced Marmoleum Modular, a naturally sustainable tile collection comprised of 44 beautiful colours and three co-ordinated sizes designed to mix and match for endless design possibilities. Marmoleum Modular makes it easy to create inspiring designs ranging from timeless chevron, herringbone and checkerboard pat- terns to modern mosaics. "Marmoleum Modular brings your loor to life with a full, balanced colour palette that includes neutral earth tones, cool concrete shades, engaging pops of colour and stunning multi-colour Vivace designs," says Jacco Vlaar, national sales manager. "With an online design tool, customers can play with colour, shades, shapes and patterns to create sustain- able looring solutions that enhance interior environments." Made from natural, renewable ingredients, Marmoleum Modular features inherent antimicrobial and antistatic properties that improve indoor air quality and resist bacteria growth without chemical additives. Its sustainable, water-based Topshield 2 inish provides occupancy-ready installation and exceptional performance against real-world looring damage, including soiling, stain- ing, scratching and scufing. "With a system service life of 30 years, a Marmoleum Modular loor can easily and cost-effec- tively be renewed, bringing it back to its original beauty, even Photo left: Tarkett's Arcade. She adds the beneit with the Dino- lex Walk Soft line is the backing material that is formulated to be softer. "Now you get a product that has more underfoot comfort. This is a great product for people who are standing on their feet for a long time." TORLYS Cork loors offer an elegant choice in décor, in addition to being one of the most sustainable options. "The harvesting practices for TORLYS Cork loors do not include cutting down trees," says Karen Deel, brand manager. "The end product is FSC certiied, a valued endorsement for the eco-friendly nature of these loors. Cork's décor lends to the ability of tying different wood species and visuals together to relate a warm visual and esthetic." Deel says cork is a very warm and durable looring mate- rial that has been used as a "go to" looring material since the 1920s. "For instance, TORLYS Cork Classic was installed at the University of Toronto's McMurrich Building for open-plan ofice looring on four loors, totalling over 26,000 square feet." All TORLYS Smart Floors use the patented Uniclic joint to create an extensive selection of reusable looring – just unclick and reinstall in another room. As a part of its integrated and comprehensive product portfolio, Tarkett/Johnsonite has added to its collection of commercial looring solutions by introducing the I.D. Patriot LVT collection. "Distributors often challenge manufacturers when it comes to the products and we have seen customers looking for a main street LVT like I.D. Patriot for some time," says Debbie Trudo, VP, Tarkett/Johnsonite Division, NRF Dis- tributors. "For end-users, the biggest requirements when selecting a product are esthetics, low maintenance and a solu- tion that its the project. I.D. Patriot offers all of these things and its designs are incredibly realistic." JUNE 2014 /41 Resilient Flooring p.40-43Resilient.indd 41 14-06-03 9:47 AM
