One day in Vancouver will have you wishing for more – try this quick itinerary to soak up the sights and get a feel for this incredible city tourismvancouver.com 7 Morning Get the lay of the land at the state-of-the-art Visitor Centre at 200 Burrard Street, and purchase half-price tickets to an evening performance through Tickets Tonight. Sign up for a guided tour of the city by bus, bike or foot, or explore Vancouver's unique neighbourhoods on your own (see page 14). Then escape the city altogether at scenic Stanley Park, a 400-hectare (1,000- acre) urban oasis bordered by a seawall made for strolling. afternoon Get lunch on the go from one of the city's many fusion food carts, then saunter down Robson Street, a shopper's mecca for everything from haute couture to funky souvenirs. Stop for a latte and some people- watching on a bustling cafe patio, then drop into local artists' studios in Gastown for First Nations and contemporary art. evening Learn a little about the city's history and its famous steam clock in Gastown, Vancouver's Victorian birthplace, before heading to Yaletown for dinner at one of the trendiest restaurants in town.
