april 2014 BCBusiness 53 Arnold Leung Founder and CEO, Appnovation Technologies Inc. Age: 28 A rnold Leung is reading a lot about Julius Caesar these days, which is fitting, considering that the 28-year-old is expanding Appnovation, his open-source IT development service, on a global scale. "Back then there was no Internet to manage things; you had to communicate by pigeons, so it's interesting that he was able to organize such a massive country for so long," says Leung from his Gastown office. Appnovation, founded in Vancouver in 2007, has since expanded to Atlanta, the U.K. and Asia, and is now heading east to Montreal. Although Leung admires Caesar, he recognizes the irony of his fascination: "He got killed in the end, but at least he was around for a while." –A.W. p38-67_30Under30_april.indd 53 14-03-07 2:05 PM
