Contributors Robert Karpa fr venturi + kar om pa turi from Jessica Vein karpa ventur + Janine Verreault Janine Verreault Editor Janine Verreault wrote this month's cover story (p. 69). The most exciting part of working on the launch issue was the photo shoots. My favourite place to shop in Vancouver is South Granville. I always reward myself at the end of a hard shopping day with takeout from Rangoli. The fall fashion trend I am most excited about is leather everything, but mostly leather skirts. When I'm not working on BCLiving, I like to stroll the Seawall with my husband and baby girl. Robert Karpa from venturi + karpa Photographer Robert Karpa of venturi + karpa shot this month's cover story (p. 69). The best part about creating the cover was going through the process of testing many looks and combinations of clothing, lighting and style. My favourite local product is wine from Desert Hills Estate Winery in Oliver, B.C. My favourite part about living on the West Coast is the wide variety of things to do around town. I hate the rain, but the soft light on cloudy days is great for photography. bcliving.ca p14-15_Contributors.indd 15 Steven S chelling Jessica Venturi from venturi + karpa Photographer Jessica Venturi of venturi + karpa shot this month's cover story (p. 69).My favourite locally designed item that I own is my hand-woven scarf by local designer/ costumer Eliza Lau. My favourite part about living on the West Coast is that I can walk out my door and be five minutes from the beach and 20 minutes from the top of a mountain. When I'm not shooting photos for BCLiving, I am stalking my friends on Instagram. Steven Schelling Local editor, media consultant and fashionista Steven Schelling wrote and styled this month's feature on B.C. designers (p. 73). My favourite locally designed items that I own are a cutting board by furniture maker Christian Woo, vintage black suede Fluevogs and a purple circular resin tray by Martha Sturdy. When I'm not styling for BCLiving, I love watching old movies, walking my beagle, Bertie, and shopping Amanda Skuse (occupational hazard). My favourite time of the year is fall because I get to layer and break out my cashmere sweaters. Amanda Skuse Photographer Amanda Skuse shot this month's B.C. designers feature (p. 73). The best part about working on the shoot was collaborating with creative people in front of and behind the camera. What I learned from this shoot is that I would like Omer Arbel lights for my dining room. My favourite part about living on the West Coast is being on the ocean, literally. When I'm not shooting for BCLiving, I know it's clichéd, but spending time with my family and friends is top on my list of how to spend my free time. NOVEMBER 201 3 | 15 13-10-23 11:29 AM
