E xploration activity in British Columbia was predictably off the peak seen in 2012, when junior explorers were already experiencing difficulty raising venture capital, particularly for their lessadvanced projects. Regardless of funding, the exploration targets and ideas persist. Many projects made notable progress in 2013, and discoveries continue to generate excitement. Coal, gold and copper top the list of commodities sought, as has been the case in recent years. Zinc projects were notably active in the Kechika Trough and elsewhere. Projects around the province are broadly divided by deposit type and commodity.
