Branding encapsulates the uniqueness of the couple mark"—a custom-designed logo by Getty that is a step beyond a traditional monogram. It can incorporate the couple's initials or simply use creative imagery such as two little crowned lovebirds for a nature-inspired "Birds of a Feather" theme. It encapsulates the character and uniqueness of the bridal couple and can appear on elements throughout the wedding from invitations to menus, centrepieces to favours. Cave says some couples also use their wed-mark for personalized stationery after they are married. With clients around the world planning their nuptials in Whistler, Cave intends on publishing the branding book so that couples getting married anywhere can streamline their planning process and create a clear and consistent vision for their wedding. She points out the workbook can be taken to planners, florists, decorators—even officiants—to maintain the couple's theme and personality from ceremony to reception. Far from being an impersonal, corporate concept, when it comes to weddings, branding is a means to creating nuptials that tell a story as unique and unforgettable as the bride and groom themselves. rw 74 RW21_part 1.indd 74 r ea l weddings photos by Mike Barry Roxanne Cave has been living and planning events in Whistler for over 20 years.
