Quick study
erman wildlife photographer
Michaela walch had spent three weeks
observing red foxes in Purden Lake
Provincial Park, about 60 kilometres east of
Prince george, when one of her subjects
decided to go behind the lens.
"i always kept my camera in the same
place, and had just gone to my van for a
few minutes," says walch. "when i
returned, i noticed that one of the foxes
was checking it out. it even depressed the
shutter. i tried not to laugh as i reached
for my second camera and captured the
scene."
The resulting image, she says, was a
blurry forest scene—not bad, considering
the fox's lack of formal training.
