HOME & AWAY SHAW TV'S WEDDING BELLES SHOWCASE THREE MAGICAL LOCALES FOR A ROMANTIC DESTINATION WEDDING RIGHT HERE IN B.C. WRITTEN, STYLED & MODELLED BY AUBREY ARNASON & SARAH GROUNDWATER LAW PHOTOGRAPHED BY LISA GRATTON, OPHELIA PHOTOGRAPHY Destination weddings now account for more than 16 per cent of weddings, and it's no secret we both love an aisle-walk abroad (in fact, we skipped over to Italy for Sarah's wedding last year). Destination weddings offer many advantages — one being a smaller, more intimate guest list. But what if you want a destination wedding and your entire guest list? We found a way to travel to far-off destinations without spending a fortune, and we didn't even have to leave our own backyard! Here, we each offer our personal take on three B.C. spots as romantic as their overseas counterparts. To put together this story, we dreamed up three different themes for our pretend wedding locales. In your own planning, remember that your wedding day should feel as if you and your guests are stepping into a magical new world. It's a momentous occasion and so it should be celebrated. Keep in mind that a theme will help expand the imagination while keeping all aspects of the day coordinated. Themes also set the mood for your guests. Will they sip champagne or down beer? Dance the Charleston or the tango? Will they munch on miniature bites or sit down to family-style feasts? Ultimately, your wedding should reflect who you are as a couple — and your guests will enjoy a party they'll never forget. 86 R E A L WEDDINGS p86-93_Home and Away.indd 86 4/26/12 11:55:09 AM
