Jillian made her strapless Alfred Sung gown her own by adding a sparkling
custom black satin belt designed by her aunt. She says, "I found the dress
shopping was really hard. I went to a lot of stores and there would be maybe only
two dresses that fit my criteria to try on because I really wanted that shape and
I didn't want any beading or rhinestones . . . I tried it on and I knew it was the
one."
Glamorous bouquets from Flowerz paired fluffy black and white hydrangeas
with elegant strands of pearls to tie together the four different black bridesmaid
dresses. "One girl spent $60, one spent $300 — it was totally up to them. I just
liked that mismatched look. It was a little more hip than some of the bridesmaid
dress options out there," says Jillian.

The photo booth was a huge hit with guests, as friends and family posed for
pictures throughout the evening.

An avid DIY-er, Jillian crafted most of the wedding stationery herself, including
place cards, invitations and menus for the 90 guests, all printed with the couple's
wedding logo and a stylized chandelier design.
The couple chose a modern black-and-white colour scheme for the table décor,
and Brix did all the rest, mixing up a delicious multi-course custom menu
featuring all of Jillian and Joel's favourites. As Joel explains, "It was sort of
a classy version of casual foods; we had burgers, we had spaghetti with meat sauce
. . . but it was all high end."
