FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY Exciting activities for kids of all ages to enjoy Take the Skyride to the top of Grouse Mountain where visitors can enjoy restaurants with majestic views, entertaining lumberjack and Birds in Motion shows, Air Grouse ziplining, snow-based winter activities such as skiing, boarding and ice skating, and even more outdoor adventures in the summer. Kids and parents alike especially love visiting the two resident grizzly bears at the mountain's Refuge for Endangered Wildlife. Dare the kids to look down as they cross the river at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, complete with rainforest nature trails, a totem pole collection, Treetops Adventure and Cliffwalk. Kids also enjoy the Rainforest Explorer program and the Raptor's Ridge live birds of prey demonstration. Capilano is located on Vancouver's North Shore, where a stop at Maplewood Farms is also a must. Cycle or stroll the seawall around Stanley Park, snap pictures of the kids standing inside giant trees and visit the kids' water park. Check out the Vancouver Aquarium's beluga whales and other sea creatures, as well as the 4D Experience that has kids raving. Offering 360-degree views at a height of 130 metres (430 feet), the Vancouver Lookout is the perfect place to get some perspective on the city. Through the Junior Pilot program, fun activities give kids the chance to learn about Vancouver and earn their wings – complete with badge and certificate. The Granville Island Water Park and Adventure Playground is a free park with water pipes, geysers and a water slide. Don't forget the ever-popular Kid's Market, and spice things up with a visit to the multicultural food court in the Granville Island Public Market. Hit up the interactive Science World at TELUS World of Science for a plethora of hands-on activities, including blowing giant soap bubbles, playing a piano with your feet and freezing your shadow on a wall. There's also an OMNIMAX big-screen cinema. Vancouver's beaches are the perfect sandy playgrounds for kids of all ages. Try English Bay, Jericho or Spanish Bank beaches – all local favourites. Infuse some fun into learning about the past at Burnaby Village Museum & Carousel, the Fort Langley National Historic Site, the Old Hastings Mill Store Museum, Vancouver's historic Gastown neighbourhood and the Britannia Mine Museum. Playland, an amusement park at the Pacific National Exhibition, keeps kids grinning for hours on end with more than 35 thrilling rides, a special Kids Playce for little ones and Pacific Adventure Golf. Surrounded by ocean and waterways, Vancouver affords unique opportunities to get out on the water. Consider a whale-watching, wildlife-viewing or kayaking trip. Or simply hop aboard the Aquabus or False Creek Ferries from Granville Island to Yaletown in downtown, or take the seabus to Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver to enjoy the kids' shops.
