K A M L O O P S K amloops is naturally stunning, strategically located and ready to unlock its next era of tourism potential. Tourism Kamloops is opening the door for visionary developers to help shape what comes next. With strong community momentum and a city ready to support big ideas, there's never been a better time—or place—to invest. Tourism Kamloops and a dedicated steering committee of industry professionals are leading the charge to redefine the region's visitor economy. Working closely with CBRE, a global leader in tourism and real estate development, the team undertook a year-long process to evaluate and validate a suite of high- potential tourism concepts. These concepts—centered on landmark attractions, family- friendly adventures and wellness experiences—are grounded in market demand, built for long-term viability and crafted to elevate Kamloops' tourism appeal, attract high-value visitors and deliver strong, enduring returns. "We're continuing to build out the 72-hour visitor itinerary," says Nic Zdunich, destination development manager for Tourism Kamloops. "Our team is ready to work directly with investors to help source land, navigate permitting and streamline the development process." Tk emlúps te Secwépemc, whose lands and heritage define the Kamloops landscape, has also identified tourism as a priority growth sector. "Tourism is one of the most exciting opportunities ahead of us," says Krista Stoetz, manager of the Sc.wén̓wen Economic Development Corporation. "Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc sees it as a key pillar of economic development and a way to share stories, honour culture and build lasting partnerships that benefit both the community and the region. We're focused on community-led, values-driven tourism that supports cultural revitalization and long-term growth." Kamloops sees 1.8 million visitors annually and sits at the junction of Highways 1, 5 and 97. It is well positioned along two of Destination BC's newly launched Iconic Routes, capturing strong year-round travel between Vancouver, Banff and Jasper. Kamloops plays a vital role in connecting British Columbia while attracting high volumes of overnight visitors. The City of Kamloops is already breaking ground with the Build Kamloops initiative—a multi- phase infrastructure plan aimed at enhancing recreational and cultural amenities across the community. One of its flagship projects is the upcoming Centre for the Performing Arts, a $150 million civic investment that will strengthen the city's capacity to host premier cultural events and performances. With a population growth rate of 12.7% since 2019 and a visitor economy that supports thousands of jobs across related sectors, Kamloops is a proven market, poised for its next chapter. "Kamloops has always had natural beauty and connectivity," Zdunich says. "Now, we've paired that with a focused strategy and an investment-ready environment. Tourism investment here is smart, and we're ready to make it happen." Find full lookbooks and feasibility reports at tourismkamloops.com/ roomtoinvest.
