Nik West is a Victoria-based
photographer who travelled to
Nanaimo to capture our cover
subject, Amy Ferris, a café and
restaurant owner in the city's
Old City Quarter. He has been
shooting assignments for
BCBusiness for 18 years. "The
number one thing I want to
do is try to relate to the subject
and get their trust early on," he
explains. "I show them what
I'm doing and explain what
I'm trying to accomplish. Then
we can work together to make
some nice images and have fun
doing it."
