She took on the issue's cover feature about B.C.'s real estate industry, "Vancouver 2050" (p.22). "I've reported often on trends in real estate, what struck me this time around was how much innovation and re-thinking is going on in non- residential real estate," Bula says. "Developers and property man- agers are working like fie ds to figu e out what will draw people out of their homes to new-style offi es and shopping, while the industrial group is making steady changes to max out Vancouver's limited land base and provide new extras." James Matthews is a full-time sports fan and freelance writer whose mental health, in his words, isn't perfect (but he's working on it). So it was fi ting that Matthews profiled sports scheduling software company Optimal Planning Solutions and mental health startup HiBoop! for "Innovation Station" (p.41)— our look at some under-the- radar tech companies in B.C. "I couldn't believe I hadn't heard of these companies," he says. "I'm stoked to share their stories with more people." ON THE COVER "Being able to imagine and illustrate how people, architecture and lifestyle might be in a futuristic city was a wonderful experience. Somehow it made me travel into the future without a DeLorean." – Illustrator Tiago Galo BCBUSINESS.CA CEO & GROUP PUBLISHER Ryan Benn GROUP VP, PUBLISHING & OPERATIONS Nina Wagner EDITORIAL EDITORIAL DIRECTOR Anicka Quin EDITORS-IN-CHIEF Nathan Caddell (BCBusiness), Stacey McLachlan (Vancouver magazine) MANAGING EDITOR Alyssa Hirose ASSISTANT EDITORS Kerri Donaldson, Rushmila Rahman WINE AND SPIRITS EDITOR Neal McLennan CONTRIBUTING EDITORS Karen Ashbee, Melissa Edwards, Amanda Ross, Julie Van Rosendaal EDITORIAL INTERN Gates Annai EMAIL bcb@canadawide.com DESIGN SENIOR ART DIRECTOR Jenny Reed ART DIRECTORS Stesha Ho, Edwin Pabellon ADVISORY COUNCIL Bridgitte Anderson, Greater Vancouver Board of Trade; TC Carling, Canadian Men's Health Foundation; Victoria Emslie, Nicola Wealth; Jayne Landry, Telus; Carol Liao, UBC Allard School of Law; Matthew McClenaghan, Edgar; Jen Riley, Bosa Properties SALES REPRESENTATION VICE PRESIDENT OF SALES Anna Lee SENIOR MEDIA SPECIALISTS Brianne Harper, Mira Hershcovitch, Amy LaJambe, Sheri Stubel EMAIL sales@canadawide.com U.S. SALES SPECIALIST Hayes Media Sales TEL 602-432-4868 EMAIL lesley@hayesmediasales.com EUROPEAN SALES SPECIALIST S&R media, Sylvie Durlach TEL +33 1 44 18 06 65 EMAIL srmedia@club-internet.fr PRODUCTION/ADMINISTRATION GROUP VP, EDUCATION AND ADMINISTRATION Jane Griffiths DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS Devin Steinberg DIRECTOR OF CIRCULATION Tracy McRitchie MANAGER, HR AND ADMINISTRATION Ava Pashmchi EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT TO CEO Hannah Dewar PRODUCTION MANAGER/DIGITAL AD COORDINATOR Kim McLane PRODUCTION ASSOCIATE Natasha Jayawardana PRODUCTION SUPPORT TECHNICIAN Ina Bowerbank CIRCULATION Kelly Kalirai FINANCE GROUP VP, FINANCE Conroy Ing, cpa, cma VP OF FINANCE Sonia Roxburgh, cpa, cga ACCOUNTING Terri Mason, Eileen Gajowski ADDRESS Suite 130, 4321 Still Creek Drive, Burnaby, B.C.
