Innovation for all Our vision for the Trades and Technology Complex is to be a state-of-the-art 21st-century applied learning environment, but also a vibrant, welcoming place where all students find a sense of belonging. The Trades and Technology Complex will equip students with spaces that foster connection and community, and support their personal and professional growth inside and outside of the classroom. New approaches to learning will meet people where they are located, through in-situ training in rural and remote communities. Students from all backgrounds will gain transformative skills working together in spaces that simulate real-world job sites, using technology and workflows that are changing our built environment. This collection of buildings, gathering places, plazas, and outdoor space will reflect the future for which we're preparing our students, by breaking down barriers for students to access education, and facilitating inclusion and collaboration between people and programs, research, and industry. "Jack and I have always believed that by increasing access to learning, everyone thrives." Darlene Poole, The Jack and Darlene Poole Foundation B C I T I S F O R E V E R Y O N E Through the Trades and Technology Complex, BCIT will continue to champion equitable and accessible trades education for all students. It will prioritize inclusive learning environments where everyone can succeed.
