Cavupro Ltd. offers TFL (Thermally Fused Laminate) for 2022. Made by fusing a décor paper directly onto a substrate, TFL effectively seals the base. This paper is often the same product used in the production of HPL (high pressure laminate), which makes for easy matching across materials including HPL, 3DL, edgebanding, mouldings, and doors. TFL is offered in many dimensions, grades, and thicknesses, and meets green building standards including LEED. Because TFL panels can stand up to frequent sanitizing and cleaning – using mild soap and water will be enough for regular cleaning – it is a good choice for applications beyond residential such as health care, hospitality, commercial, and retail. CABINETRY In the kitchen design industry, sometimes it's the unsung creators of everyday products in the back- ground that should be applauded for their ingenuity and creativity. Grass Canada Inc. is one of those companies, being the inventor and first to market the soft-close drawer and door systems. "Grass has been producing hardware for the kitchen furni- ture industry for over 75 years," says George Pavlov, Ontario sales manager. "Internationally, we have excellent customers, including Giorgio Armani Dada, Eckermann, and the list goes on. These are all high-end, premium brand products and while they make their products work, we're the ones who make the functional hardware that goes into it." Pavlov notes that in the modern world of ren- ovation and building television shows it's ironic the product that consumers crave in their newly designed homes is Grass's 20-year-old soft-close fea- ture. "The key benefit to customers is our products have a lifetime warranty," he says. A variety of new system styles brings more selec- tion for designers and architects to include in their projects. "The new V8 system offers 16 percent more storage capacity, it is a thinner drawer, but it actually opens up the size of a drawer comparatively speaking. You can do a 48-inch drawer without having to put a secondary setup, which really opens design possibili- ties for interior designers and architects. It also gives the designers a sleeker cleaner look." He adds sustain- ability is also a big factor. "The V8 system is almost 99 percent recyclable, which is a big factor." Merivobox, the latest box system by Blum Canada Ltd., provides a unique combination of slim drawer side design, high stability, and easy assembly. "Merivobox will allow you to create a broad range of drawers with just a few components – and all with the same easy assembly process," says Lucy Traetto, marketing representative. "The L-shape of the cabi- net profile is coupled with maximum functionality, which makes the uniform box platform so innovative. Assembly is always the same, adjustment is simple, and Merivobox boasts award-winning design." She notes that the Merivobox platform is diverse yet simple, easily allowing variety for clients. "This platform makes it incredibly simple to manufacture and assemble drawers and pullouts to meet every demand. At the heart of the system is the cabinet profile with the same fixing position for all appli- cations, simultaneously reducing complexity and increasing variety." A distinct feature of the Merivobox system is the drawer side design. "It's straight on the inside so you can use storage space right up to the edge," Traetto explains. "Combined with the Ambia-Line inner dividing system, you can create stunning and organized interiors. In addition, the design line pro- duces beautiful light reflections on the drawer side. These smooth transitions are a key feature of the well-thought-out design to allow for virtually seam- less pull-outs." Traetto adds Merivobox looks good in every room in the home – be it the kitchen, bathroom, living room, bedroom, office, or hallway. A Merivobox from Blum.
