"The Community access management software solution is specifically developed for multihousing properties," says Michael Kincaid, global business owner, Lodging Systems. "It meets the security and operational requirements property managers need and the convenience expectations of today's residents for simplified access management. Residents have the flexibility they require and property managers the control they need." SMART LOCKS Roy Park, country manager at Assa Abloy says that last year's trends of reducing or eliminating high touch points and anti-bacterial technologies continue, and as he sees it, will become the norm moving forward. Smart home solutions continue to gain traction when it comes to door hard- ware, and Park says that Yale – a company that goes back more than 180 years – has an amazing perspective when it comes to product development that he describes as "from curb to core" for the home. One such innovation is Smart Delivery boxes that ensure packages are deliv- ered and secured safely. "Smart locks simplify everything, from food delivery to childcare, with ever more modern aesthetics. Smart Cabinet locks combine ease-of-use with peace of mind to keep your family and valuables safe," says Park. He adds that these same principles of simplicity and function can be found within the related multi-family housing sector, where Yale Accentra delivers a seamless experience for tenants while eliminating almost every costly aspect for the building manager, including wiring, physical keys, and communication hardware. COLOUR ME BEAUTIFUL Over at Trillium Architectural Products Ltd., a trend they are seeing in the com- mercial realm is a preference for white and brushed satin brass door hardware finishes. "They fit beautifully with some of the modern designs we've seen so far this year. However, matte black and brushed stainless steel are still hugely popular," says Geoff Mainprize, partner at Trillium. With a preference by designers to use glass doors and partitions as a way to bring more daylight into office spaces, Mainprize explains that these doors require sleek hardware options, and says that Rockwood's PDU exit devices and their line of matching locking door pulls, are a great choice. "These same hardware elements are also being used on wood doors to achieve a continuity in design," he adds. While Trillium, like other experts in the industry, have not been exempt from the challenges of supply chain issues, the volatility in the price of steel, and unpredictable shipping delays, their ability to pivot has resulted in further growth. "Flexibility, creativity, and communication – internally, with clients and with vendors – have been key in getting our projects to the finish line," says Todd Farrell, director of HR and communications. "We've also been able to recruit people with excellent industry experience from over the world, and because this is such a niche industry, this has helped us expand far more quickly than if we only relied on the local talent pool. It's a win-win for our people and our business." A Resident Visitor Management community software. Cascadia Windows.indd 1 2018-07-09 11:09 AM
