Schlage now also offers the LE wireless lock with a mobile enabled option that gives users the security and convenience of using a smart device to gain access. The LE design packages the mortise lock, credential reader, and access control sensors together into a small footprint that is both elegant and afford- able. It features two sleek trim options with a broad range of decorative lever and finish choices. LE electronic wireless locks fit into existing network architecture and can work in the same EAC system as other wireless locks including Schlage Control, AD-400, and NDE. ON TREND As we enter a post-pandemic world, experts at Allmar Inc. are seeing a number of trends emerge in the hardware realm, including modified solutions such as touch-free sensors, dividers, and package reception systems, and as reported previously, a move to electrified locks, mobile credentials, and leveraging the benefits of access control systems. "Mobile credentials are especially convenient for multifamily residents compared to keys or fobs, opening the door to a new realm of services and ame- nities. Building on strengths as an alternative to mechanical keys and rekeying, smart apartment locks using electronic credentials have increased their value to property managers with no-tour capabilities, eliminating the need to visit every offline lock ahead of a new move-in. Schlage Locks mobile credentials can be emailed to future residents for them to download. No exchanging of keys or fobs, everything can be done virtually," says Elise Mayberry, national marketing manager at Allmar. With no-tour functionality, property managers can give residents access to their facilities with two quick steps: provision credentials from the comfort of your own desk and send the resident a link to download the mobile credential for use around the property. When it comes to aesthetic trends, Allmar says that black remains popular, and Allegion and Assa Abloy's new Black Suede finish supports this. "Now seen throughout both residential and commercial spaces, this design-friendly finish is not only on-trend, but it is also broadly appealing, durable, and versatile. From door closers and locks to hinges and a multitude of other accessories, the availability of this finish across such a vast portfolio can achieve a more fluid, consistent design throughout interior and exterior openings," says Mayberry. ACCESS ON DEMAND Dormakaba is also seeing increasing interest from property managers for flex- ible access control, and as such dormakaba's new community software Resident Visitor Management is a perfect solution. With the Resident Visitor Management feature and the enhanced BlueSky mobile app, property managers can enable today's busy residents to provide tem- porary access to both perimeter and common areas by creating and sharing mobile keys or PIN codes. Mobile keys can also be sent for access to interior unit locks. Residents can create and manage PIN codes including single use, date, and time specific use, or multiple use access. Using the BlueSky app, residents have the flexibility to send credentials by text or email. They can use this new Schlage Locks mobile credentials.
