MacNeil will serve as a key member of the senior leadership team (SLT) on operational decision-making and will be responsible for practice support and practice advocacy. The portfolio includes management of practice queries, maintenance and creation of standard agreement documents, maintenance of exist- ing publications (e.g. Fee Guide, CHoP), leadership and management of the Practice Support Committee, advisor to RAIC continuing education as well as advocacy and representation on pan-professional commit- tees including but not limited to the Federal Real Property Advisory Committee, Construction Industry Consultative Committee, and more. MacNeil is a licensed architect, a member of the Nova Scotia Association of Architects, a past president of the Nova Scotia Association of Architects, and a qualified Maritime Lumber Bureau Licensed Grader. Before he was appointed as RAIC VP of practice, he was a firm director at Jerry MacNeil Architects Limited overseeing measured and image- based documentation and wood investigations. He has been involved with new design, adaptive reuse, forensic investigation, and conserva- tion projects for institutional and corporate clients, with emphasis on churches and similar places for worship and nursing homes. He has been published, carried out historic building conservation work in Canada, Germany, and the U.S., and has presented papers in Canada, Norway, the U.S., the U.K, and the Czech Republic. He is a member of the Association for Preservation Technology International, the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) International Wood Committee, ICOMOS Wooden Places of Worship Working Group, BIM4Heritage, and the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada. He has recently served on the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada Board of Directors and its Governance, and Audit and Risk Committees. New faces at RAIC for 2022 HONOR ARY FELLOWSHIP FOR 2022 The RAIC is also proud to announce that Wanda Dalla Costa, a promi- nent Indigenous voice and practitioner in North American architecture, has been awarded honorary fellowship for 2022. Dalla Costa is a member of the Saddle Lake Cree Nation and was the first First Nation woman to become an architect in Canada. Her firm, Tawaw Architecture Collective, is based in Phoenix, Arizona. She is the director and founder of Arizona State University's Indigenous Design Collaborative, a community-driven design and construction pro- gram that brings together tribal community members, industry and multidisciplinary teams of university students and faculty to co-design and co-develop solutions for tribal communities. Dalla Costa is a prominent Indigenous female voice within the architectural profession–specifically within the academic sphere in North America. A
