10 PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT The original concept for the SSMSP program was developed in 2009 by Dr. Brian Riddell (CEO (now retired), PSF), Dr. Isobel Pearsall (Project Coordinator, PSF) and a Canadian Science Team ( Table 1). The Science team was convened in 2011 and assisted with the development of the SSMSP, building the joint objectives and key hypotheses, and guiding the Canadian research projects. Table 1.
