Chair's Message
As Chair of the
Board of the Greater
Vancouver Home
Builders' Association
(GVHBA), I am
honoured to serve
the members of
Canada's secondlargest home
builders' association.
A non-profit society, GVHBA
comprises more than 750 member
companies, including developers,
builders, renovators, sub-contractors,
suppliers and other professionals.
The voice of the residential
construction industry throughout the
Lower Mainland for 39 years, GVHBA
takes seriously its responsibilities and
service to its members and the general
public.
GVHBA members are provided with
relevant information on advances in
technology, design trends, consumer
preferences, community-planning
initiatives, sustainable and green
building practices, government policy,
housing statistics, and a wide range
of education and training programs
delivered in seminar, workshop, forum
and online formats.
The GVHBA produces the annual
Parade of Renovated Homes, presented
by FortisBC, which takes place on
Sunday, June 9 this year. During
this unique one-day event, GVHBA
RenoMark renovators invite the public
to tour professionally renovated homes
across Metro Vancouver. Visitors will be
inspired by the thoughtfully-executed
design, construction and features in
the homes – ideas they can possibly
incorporate into their future home
renovations.
Also popular are our consumer
seminars on buying a first home,
building a custom home, or renovating
a home or condo to accommodate
a growing family, empty-nester
downsizing, or to address current or
emerging mobility challenges.
GVHBA renovation contractors are
participants in RenoMark, a national
initiative that separates the renovation
pros, and provides more confidence to
homeowners. RenoMark contractors
must abide by a 10-condition Code of
Conduct, published on the previous
page.
