32 | DECEMBER 2019 Carpet Textural Effects, offered by Mohawk Group, merges the tactile qualities of natural designs. The multi-category carpet collection employs heavily textured and bulky Heathered Hues yarns to deliver natural wool-like visuals spanning the organic and the manmade. "When used with other finishes that have a smooth surface or high gloss, Textural Effects provides visual and tactile contrast," says Royce Epstein, A&D design director. "Collection styles appear especially warm and rich when paired with wood tones and hard surfaces. This overall sensory esthetic brings warmth and unparalleled performance to sustain end-users in all types of environments." Four styles across 12-inch by 36-inch carpet plank and broadloom emphasize the creature comforts of home for contract interiors. "Plank-style Thematic Thread is a tweed pattern with an irregular loomed fabric quality, while Tactile Infusion plank offers a larger-scale cozy, sweater-like esthetic," says Epstein. "Moss Moderne broadloom co-ordinates with the Lichen Collection and evokes the palpable forms found in nature. The Matte Finish broadloom style is more tailored with a classic loop texture that references nubby bouclé fabrics." Textural Effects is manufactured using Mohawk Group's new Duracolour Tricor solution dyed nylon fibre, which leverages a modified triangular-shaped core to deliver unsurpassed stain resistance, colourfastness, durability, colour clarity, and enhanced soil performance. Beaulieu Canada is excited to announce the launch of its newest InnoFibe Berber carpet styles that use a fibre resistant to colour fading and staining. With it's looped-in Berber style, the carpet can easily recreate a wool-like texture and look. Above all, its interesting patterns and attractive colours will entice anyone who walks in your home. InnoFibe Berber is available in five different styles, each offering nine different colour options, from the warm tones of Canyon Brown to the more contemporary soft grey Stillness. In addition, these carpets are all made in Canada and are Green Label Plus- certified, ensuring customers are purchasing the very lowest VOC-emitting products on the market. An added benefit is that InnoFibe Berber has the Stainproof For Life warranty. This fibre absorbs virtually no moisture, which guarantees customers a carpet that will last longer. It is difficult to do any better in terms of value for money. Based on the constantly fluid spaces of the modern workplace, Tarkett's Tatami System is a revolutionary new flooring that disrupts the conventional perception of broadloom carpets. This fully modular system was inspired by traditional Japanese tatami mats and the various needs within today's open, collaborative environments. In addition to its soft esthetics and comforting textures, Tatami System helps to improve acoustics for healthier, more supportive atmospheres. Tatami System modules can be easily configured to meet the needs of a variety of spaces within workplace, hospitality and learning environments. The system consists of four modules and the multiple sizes can be joined together in custom- ized layouts, based on the specific needs and dimensions of each space – with zero installation waste. When the need arises, the system can be disassembled and reconfigured in a different way, due to the unique releasable adhesive, and no need for attachment to the subfloor. "Tatami System takes the traditional Broadloom carpet platform and reimag- ines it into a flexible, modular, sustainable, reconfigurable version of itself," says Terry Mowers, VP commercial design for Tarkett North America. All Tatami System modules are treated with Eco-Ensure soil protection, a fluorine-free chemistry made with naturally occurring elements. Tatami System is also 100 percent recyclable through Tarkett's ReStart reclamation program. Mapei recently launched Ultrabond ECO 811, a mint-coloured adhesive that provides an enhanced, aggressive tack for installing all types of carpet tile and has releasable properties for easy removal of flooring. Ultrabond ECO 811 provides a secure adhesive base for standard PVC-backed carpet tile as well as non-PVC-, polyolefin-, felt- and bituminous-backed carpet tile. As a leading manufacturer for a wide variety of floors, Mapei has introduced Ultrabond ECO 811 to meet the needs of the increasing demand for carpet tile installation. Carpet tiles add depth and texture to a room, while also being easily replaceable versus replacing an entire floor. To meet this versatility, Ultrabond ECO 811 is specially designed to provide the option of a permanent or releasable base, accommodating the remodelling cycles typical in residential homes, office buildings, hospitality settings, and institutional locations. Ultrabond ECO 811 is suitable for various substrates including wood underlayments, exterior-grade plywood, cement terrazzo and fully bonded vinyl composition tile.
