"I guess I might have got some salt in my veins," he says. And though he earned a free ticket to the 2008 World Championships in Sturgis by winning the 2007 Canadian Championship of Bike Building with Nortorious, a stunning creation styled after the British Norton Manx Café Racer, he surprised everyone with his entry, ditching Nortorious for Goldmember and his dream of melding the worlds of custom and performance. Today, Goldammer admits to a serious case of salt fever. "Pursuit of speed at Bonneville, that's what really motivates me now," he says, gesturing at his latest project, a highly modified stock Harley with which he hopes to break the 200 mph barrier. "I can hardly wait to get it on the dyno and wring its neck."
