Discover adventure in the Vancouver, Coast & Mountains Region! L ook no further than the Vancouver, Coast & Mountains Region for exciting outdoor adventures. Start at the Capilano Suspension Bridge on Vancouver's North Shore, which stretches 70m above and 137m across the Capilano River. The newest attraction, Cliffwalk, has sections where glass is all that separates you from the canyon below! Continue your heart pumping day by hiking the famous Grouse Grind trail, known by some as "mother nature's staircase," or take the aerial tram up to the top of Grouse Mountain. Here you can go ziplining or try tandem paragliding for an adrenaline rush. Next, head up Highway 99 and stop at the Squamish Adventure Centre, where you can book your next activity and have a pre-adventure coffee. Rock climbing enthusiasts love to climb the Stawamus Chief, the world's second largest granite monolith. Take a rock climbing lesson or head out on a guided trip. Prefer the water? The Squamish Spit near the mouth of the Squamish River is well known for having fabulous conditions for wind surfing and kite boarding, so make sure you arrange a lesson! Windsurfing at the Squamish Spit, photo by Bob Young Further up the Sea to Sky Highway you'll find Whistler, home to the Whistler Mountain Bike Park. There's a trail here for every level of rider, from beginner to expert. Afterwards, book a canoe or kayak tour and paddle through Whistler's waterways while enjoying the beautiful mountain setting.
