One of Barkman's newest products for 2019 is the Bridgewood Wall. "This product can be used for a garden wall, planter boxes, or even a fire pit," says Peegy Ontong, marketing supervisor. "The Bridgewood wall unit pieces are six-inches high by 42-inch wide by eight-inches deep. The Arborwood slab is also new for us this year and gives any outdoor patio a wood look flooring. We are introducing a lot of wood-look products because we see that as a trend. A lot of people use natural wood, which takes a lot of effort to maintain, while this product has virtu- ally no maintenance. This precast concrete product doesn't warp or fade, so this will last longer than natural wood. Arborwood is available in Kodiak Brown and Timber Wolf Grey." The Flagstone, Mesa Flagstone pavers, and the Grand Flagstone Slabs epito- mize the random look, adding flair to any installation. As they approach their 40th year in business, Terraforce looks back on a solid track record of outstanding design in retaining walls. With business growing around the world, the company enjoys continuing popularity of its products in Canada, including the L13 smooth face retaining block, the Terralite block, the L17 and L18 blocks, and the 4x4 step block. "Using Terralite can create unlimited curves, especially for surrounding flower beds and terraces," says Holger Rust, president. "Filling the block with soil, a variety of plants and flowers creates unique designs." While wildfires in 2018 forced the production facility in Williams Lake to shut down, blocks can still be ordered from Blocks R Us in Williams Lake or from Tristar Brick and Block in Abbotsford, B.C. On Vancouver Island, it is business as usual and blocks can be ordered from Brownsey Block, which currently supplies the small Terralite block as well as the trusted L13 block. To assist landscapers in creating the perfect design, the Terraforce SRW (Segmental Retaining Walls) Maxiwall software is free and available worldwide. "The Terraforce SRW has been in use for over a decade, giving designers accurate and detailed results for all project sizes," says Rust. "Using the new Maxiwall version, they can easily complete wall designs with preloaded Block and Geogrid information and produce clear, comprehensive construction drawings." With the DXF output feature, CAD cross sections and elevation views are automatically generated and ready to import into AutoCAD.
