2018 Financials Notes NON-GOVERNMENT REVENUE Pacific Salmon Endowment Fund Society: These funds contribute to the core operations of the Pacific Salmon Foundation, enabling at least 90 per cent from other donations to be applied directly to salmon projects. The Society is also a major contributor to the Salish Sea Marine Survival Project, the Gulf of Alaska Expedition (p. 23), Chinook recovery e„orts in the Yukon and other PSF activities. Other: This category includes other non-profit partners that provide critical support. Some major supporters are: the Pacific Salmon Commission's Southern Endowment Fund and the Sitka Foundation for the Salish Sea Marine Survival Project; Genome BC for the Strategic Salmon Health Initiative; the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation for the Salmon Watersheds Program (salmonwatersheds.ca); Duncanby Lodge for the PSF-managed Percy Walkus Hatchery/Rivers Inlet Salmon Recovery Program (percywalkushatchery.org); and Mosaic Forest Management for the Community Salmon Program. FUNDRAISING & EVENTS REVENUE Donations: This category under-reports actual donations because PSF uses deferred contribution accounting, which only records revenues once expenses have been incurred. In some cases, donations are received late in the year and are not utilized until the next fiscal year. OTHER REVENUE This revenue is derived from sta„ time and management fees billable to specific activities. This category also includes interest, miscellaneous revenues and other administrative fees. GOVERNMENT REVENUE Since 2012, 100 per cent of proceeds generated through sales of the Salmon Conservation Stamp have been directed to PSF by the federal government in support of the Community Salmon Program. From 1989 through 2018, in combination with part proceeds from the Commercial Fisheries Conservation Stamp, $15.2 million in revenue has been directed to 2,370 projects with a total value of $130.7 million once community funds and in-kind donations were included. CONSERVATION, EDUCATION & MANAGEMENT SERVICES Includes personnel and other costs associated with major project management, stakeholder relations and communications with governments. OVERHEAD EXPENSES Includes facility and infrastructure costs, as well as personnel and other costs associated with general administration.
