From Capital Cooking Equipment Inc.: Dual-fuel (electric ovens and gas ranges) Connoisseurian Series. (Pictured below in the 48-inch configuration.) compressor, dual evaporator/tri-evaporator system uses dedicated compressors, says Kipp. This allows the units to perfectly manage the temperature and ensure the temperature at the evaporator is appropriate for the compartment. Fhiabas patented hinge is made of solid stainless steel for increased strength and durability. This unit is self-balancing and allows for as little as a one-eighthinch clearance from the door panel to the adjacent cabinet for the most incognito of integrated installations. Euro-Line Appliances Inc. launched the Liebherr HWS 1800 beverage tower, combining the thirstquenching options of a wine-storage unit with an AEG espresso machine and warming drawer, putting hot and cold beverages at users fingertips. The HWS 1800 is a built-in wine storage unit that stores up to 18 Bordeaux-style bottles, says Doug Eglington, president. Temperature can be precisely controlled with the push of a button on the LCD display. The AEG espresso machine brews the perfect cup of coffee every time. Whole beans are put into the machine, Dream Kitchen Customization and premium quality are the hallmarks of modern appliances T by Laurie Jones The overall trends for appliances in 2013 is a combination of style and efficiency, and unlike days gone by, bigger is not always better. Todays choice in customization offers appliances for every household, no matter the lifestyle or budget. Decisions to move to smaller dimensions in appliances have been common in multi-family projects for some time, but this pattern is expanding into other areas. There is a movement towards high-quality, 24-inch wide built-in cooking appliances, even in large, single family homes, says Glenn Anderson, general manager, Edmonds/Y. Franks Appliances. Many kitchens now include a 24-inch wall oven and a 24-inch speed oven a combination high-speed convection microwave and auxiliary convection wall oven, says Anderson. This high-speed oven is approximately 30 to 40 per cent faster as it uses the microwaves as a boost to the traditional convection roasting. One thing many people find surprising is the fact that a 24-inch wall oven will easily cook an 18-pound turkey. These ovens have the same depth as a regular wall oven because they all fit into a standard depth cabinet, says Anderson. In our store, we have a plastic 14-pound turkey inside the oven to give people an idea of how much room Appliances p20-23Appliances.indd 21 there is in the smaller unit. It gets people away from what I call turkey phobia when planning their kitchens and considering wall oven sizes. Another benefit with using smaller appliances is energy cost savings. It is substantially less expensive to heat a 24-inch oven than a 30-inch oven, says Anderson. We use 24-inch appliances everywhere, including laundry. Pacific Specialty Brands has long been known for importing premium brands of appliances, and 2013 is no exception. Made in Italy, Fhiaba premium luxury refrigeration and wine cellars are hand-built with iconic and distinctive professional design. The luxurious stainless steel finish, functionality and performance makes any Fhiaba a key ingredient for the most discerning and stylish kitchens of today and tomorrow, says Mike Kipp, president. Fhiaba refrigeration and wine cellars come in 24-inch, 30-inch, and 36-inch widths, and a variety of stainless steel and integrated series. These hand-built, Italian luxury products offer a number of key features. The 25-year life span comes from the extensive use of stainless steel and aluminum hardware and components. A lateral cooling system reduces the loss of cool air into the kitchen every time the door is opened, and the dual- and the user can control the coarseness of the grind, the strength of the brew and the temperature at which is it made. The steam arm allows for perfect lattes and cappuccinos, and you can also use the machine to draw hot water for tea. At 24 inches wide, the AEG warming drawer completes the tower. Its the perfect size for warming mugs to keep beverages hot for a longer period of time, says Eglington. These same appliances can be built into a kitchen as well, but as a tower they are a perfect addition to any room where you want to serve beverages, but dont need a fullsize refrigerator. One indulgence for multi-milliondollar homeowners is the dual kitchen, providing a separate work space and the showroom-style kitchen that is, in some cases, never used. Coast Wholesale Appliances staff answers the call for this luxury with the companys lines of high-end appliances. Typically, the working kitchen, or spice kitchen as it is known, has mid-range appliances and often only has a cook top or range and hood fan, says Jasmine Jeon, designer sales. In some cases, there is a dishwasher and fridge. Dual kitchens are often purchased by people with an ethnic background. They want to have the main kitchen looking new all the time, with the most expensive appliances. These are seldom used, if ever, says Jeon. The main kitchen usually has a wall oven and cooktop to maintain a streamlined look. The brands often found here are february 2013 /21 13-01-22 3:12 PM
