art. Noguchi and Ikea lamps grace the same
room. It's a well-honed mix of pieces that
comes out of a very modern sensibility.
Trial and error
Her biggest lesson in the whole design
process came courtesy of her friend Cathy
Radcliffe, a design associate at Riesco &
Lapres Interior Design: there's no right
answer. Just know what matters to you. For
Shelley, that means spending extra money on
art rather than radiant in-floor heating. ("Put
some socks on," says Shelley, pragmatically.)
Faced with choosing pot lights, her decision
