The collection features rugs printed with relics from the city's rich history – all of which are artifacts from the MOV. Some pieces are as recent as the message boards following the 2011 Stanley Cup riot. Others reach back into the more distant past like the 1950s streetcar scrolls or the corporate seals used by Vancouver businesses and charities in the 19th and 20th. No matter the decade from which inspiration was drawn, each rug weaves an element of history into a beautiful piece of decor. Pay close attention to the vintage map of Metro Vancouver from 1935, which has a noticeable landmark missing from its landscape: the Lions Gate Bridge. It didn't open until 1938. ■ – Kristen Hilderman See SOURCES on page 83 HOT BLOG » A home without any Ikea furnishings is an anomaly these days.
