DECEMBER 2018 | 39 Carpet Beaulieu Canada has introduced Tryesse Pro, a Canadian-made product featuring rich blends and tone-on-tone looks. "This new yarn system produces innovative wall-to-wall carpet that will be a great addition to your new décor, thanks to its texture and soft colours," says Andrée-Anne Roy, marketing, commu- nications and events co-ordinator. "Whether you prefer the level cut and loop type of fibre that focuses on patterns, or a cut pile textured carpet that emphasizes colours, all Tryesse Pro collections are made of 100 percent BCF solution-dyed polyester. This means excellent fade, wear, soil, and stain resistance as well as great texture retention." Roy adds that Tryesse Pro offers a 20-year warranty on manufacturing defects and texture retention. "It's resistant to pet stains, it's easy to clean, and most importantly, it offers luxurious softness. These carpets can be stunning in both wall-to-wall and area rug configurations." In addition, she says Beaulieu Canada has introduced three new carpet tile styles – Carina, Clean Slate, and Sound Wave. "These are the perfect products for a home office. In addition to their versatility, these tiles can be easily installed, a must for a quick renovation project." This year Interface introduced Visual Code, the latest in its carpet tile collec- tion. Visual Code marries the worlds of high-tech and high-touch through pairing images of glitch graphics and technicolour circuitry with simple textures that recall traditional woven fabrics and rugs. The collection's designer, David Oakey, founder of David Oakey Designs and product designer exclusive to Interface, was inspired by the contradiction of technology overload and people's desire to be surrounded by more artisanal and hand-crafted environments. "In a world of AI, VR, robotics, and smart everything, we are losing our ability to have truly organic and creative thinking. Visual Code brings engagement with the natural world and real, high-touch things back into our spaces," says Oakey. "This concept of joining simple greys with bold, bright, and scrambled colours, and balancing in four striking black and white textures promotes a playful, cre- ative experience and provides calming qualities that mirror the natural world." Visual Code showcases 10 unique face styles that co-ordinate, yet vary widely in colour, pattern, and texture for commercial interiors such as corporate offices, educational facilities, and multi-family living environments. The collection pulls from emerging digitally-inspired artistic trends, such as the corruption or manipulation of images, to achieve a colourful, disarrayed appearance. The collection features core textures in its Plain Stitch, Stitchery, and Stitch Count versions; bold patterns and accents in the Static Lines, Hard Drive and Circuit Board choices; and black and white patterns in the Darning, Haptic, Overedge and Decibel lines. Visual Code is available in 25-centimetres by one-metre Skinny Planks, ranging from flat to plush and even a shag style. ADHESIVES Mapei Inc.'s Ultrabond ECO 811 adhesive for carpets provides an enhanced, aggressive tack for installing all types of carpet tile. "Ultrabond ECO 811 provides a secure, releasable adhesive base for standard PVC-backed carpet tile as well as for the non-PVC-, polyolefin-, felt- and bituminous-backed carpet tile," says J.D. Eckmire, sales director, Western Canada. "It can also be used to bond fibreglass reinforced vinyl sheet flooring." The Ultrabond ECO 811 can be used with a variety of installations, including residential – rental apartments, condominiums and homes; and commercial – office buildings, hotel rooms/hallways and restaurants. "This product is also safe to use in institutional installations, such as hospitals, schools, universities, and libraries," says Eckmire. A Inside Shapes from Shaw Contract.
