The Township of Langley is the fastest growing municipality in the region. Today, our community's population of 121,727 is projected to double by 2040. With direct access to the Trans-Canada Highway, US border crossings, and international markets, the Township of Langley is central for clients, customers and employees, and is advantageously situated for efficient import and export opportunities. As an inclusive and diverse community, having a median population age of 41 with an annual household income of $117,000, and a population growing faster than average, this provides a growing market for population-serving industries as well as those requiring a large and expanding labour pool. EXPLORE EXPERIENCE EXCEL With one of the highest workforce participation rates in Metro Vancouver, and a younger population than many similar communities, especially in BC, population projections equally show continued growth in the core working-age range. Named in the Top Best Cities for Work in BC, with ~7,000 licensed businesses, having a consistent upward trajectory in newly incorporated businesses, inter-municipal business licensing for specific industries, and offering advantageous business taxation levies, there is a value-proposition for businesses to be situated in the Township. Industry sector capacity and diversity fuels our local economy, with key categories including management of companies and enterprises, agriculture, manufacturing, wholesale trade, construction, transportation and warehousing, and other services. Check out our profile videos on YouTube/LangleyTownship. Since the 2015 endorsement of LOCO's Buy Local Program, staff have collaborated to deliver annual activation campaigns to raise public awareness about their buying power. With ~98% of all businesses in BC being small businesses and of these, ~79% being micro-businesses with fewer than five employees, this program connects business and community.
