three-member task force, led by Vancouver-West End
MLA Spencer Chandra Herbert, held public meetings
across B.C. in June. e purpose of the task force was to
explore potential changes to landlord-tenant regulations.
ere is significant reason to be concerned that
regulatory changes will only further erode the incentives
for property owners to contribute to the rental stock.
CMBA-BC wrote to Mr. Herbert, outlining the need for tenants as mortgage
helpers and the vital importance of rental income to offset ownership risks.
